Office web app 2013 not working after download and install windows update and you will see the following error when you try to preview any documents ( word , excel , powerpoint ..etc ) in sharepoint .

This problem occurs because the office web app not support windows update and you can check in this microsoft artical Plan Office Web Apps Server

Microsoft says .. 

Applying Office Web Apps Server updates by using the Microsoft automatic updates process isn’t supported with Office Web Apps Server. Updates to an Office Web Apps Server must be applied in a specific way, as described in Apply software updates to Office Web Apps Server. If Office Web Apps Server updates are applied automatically, users might be unable to view or edit documents in Office Web Apps. If this happens, you have to rebuild your Office Web Apps Server farm.


What’s going on?

You will notice that the rate of cpu used on office web app server between 98% to 100% .


What is the solution?

  1. First of all make sure to stop automatic windows update on office web app server ( from control panel -> Windows update -> change settings -> Important updates -> select ” check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them ) to make sure the problem not occurs again .
  2. We need to recreate office web app farm by using the same command when you’re create it in first time , as the following :
  • Open PowerShell then :

  • This command for removes the current server from the Office Web Apps Server farm.
Import-module OfficeWebApps
  • Import office web app module to create a new farm.
New-OfficeWebAppsFarm -InternalUrl “https://owa01.domain.local” -ExternalUrl “” –CertificateName “OWA_Internal” –EditingEnabled
  • This Command for create new office web app farm.

When you get output that the farm was successfully created , check the CPU it shoud be return to normal status , if CPU still 100% restart the server .

SharePoint 2013 Newsfeed Mobile Application


Hi guys ,


One of the most amazing features in SharePoint 2013 is social features , that’s allow you to communication with your colleagues.

It’s like any social site ( Twitter , Facebook .. etc ) you can follow ( people , document , site ) and you can post newsfeed , create mention , sharing documents using skyDrive .. etc ( I will talk about SharePoint 2013 social feature in separate post ) ..


What I want to talk about is the Microsoft NewsFeed Application on mobiles , it’s give you easy way to stay connected with your colleagues using SharePoint’s social features. You can post to Newsfeed on all your SharePoint sites, follow people, documents, and tags, and more.


This application release on :

Note : is not available yet on android , you can check from here ( Microsoft Apps on Android ) when it was available ..


I will take I quick tour on feature of NewsFeed App.

  • To use the SharePoint Newsfeed app you must have a personal site set up in SharePoint Server 2013 or Office 365 SharePoint Online.
  • You must be filling your site and user information when you’re opening the application.


  • In the top menu we have the following :
    1. EveryOne
    2. Mentions
    3. Activities
    4. Following


  • When select icon from left top corner will appear slide menu that have another option (NewFeed , Documents that you’re followed , followed people , about me , settings) ..




  • You can add new post ( with mentions or tags ) when you select plus icon from right top corner that allow you to chose target of this post ( everyone or specific site ) and you can take or chose photo from your mobile .

How to Connecting to Oracle from Visual Studio

Hello everyone ,


We have today the steps for how to connecting to oracle from visual studio 2012.


First of all we should have to install the following :

  1. Visual Studio 2012 or higher from here .
  2. ODAC with Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio from here .


After install Visual Studio we cannot found the ODP.Net data provider under oracle DB data source as the following :

Note: To open data source ( from View -> Server Explorer -> connect to database ).



When we installed ODAC the ODP.Net data provider which we will use it to connecting to oracle Db appeared under oracle DB data source as the following :


Click on ( ODP.Net , managed Driver ) then fill connect information.


To connecting oracle DB from C# code , add a reference of the assembly Oracle.DataAccess.dll in project

add reference



Use and replace your connect information in the following code :

OracleConnection con = new OracleConnection();
con.ConnectionString = "User Id=<username>;Password=<password>;Data Source=<datasource>";
Console.WriteLine("Connected to Oracle" + con.ServerVersion);
